DoubleTree Cookies Ingredients

You’ll need:

  • ½ lb butter, softened
  • ¾ cup + 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats (rolled oats)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 ⅔ cups Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 ¾ cups chopped walnuts

Substitutions and Additions

NUTS: Swap out walnuts for pecans, or forego the nuts entirely if you don’t like them or can’t eat them.

BUTTER: We like butter best for cookies, but if you don’t have any or prefer not to use butter, you can use margarine or a vegan substitute in equal portions (or as directed). Keep in mind, this might change the texture of your cookies.

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 300°F. Then, in a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed for about 2 minutes.

STEP TWO: Add eggs, vanilla, and lemon juice. Blend on low speed for 30 seconds, then medium speed for about 2 minutes or until light and fluffy.

PRO TIP: Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl occasionally to ensure everything is well combined.

STEP THREE: Add flour, oats, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, and blend on low for about 45 seconds, but don’t overmix.

STEP FOUR: Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

STEP FIVE: Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about 2 inches apart.

PRO TIP: Each scoop of cookie dough should be about 3 tablespoons.

STEP SIX: Bake the cookies for 20-23 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is still soft.

PRO TIP: Ovens vary, so adjust cooking times according to your oven.

STEP SEVEN: Remove the cookies from the oven and leave them on the baking sheet to cool for about 1 hour.
